Well I've been a little busy over the last week or so, hence the lack of posting. Last Sunday (the 7th) we (my mom and I) took Liam to the zoo for the first time. He really was not all that impressed. There were A LOT of empty cages. Or the animals are hiding or far away, so he just couldn't even really see them. He did at least notice the elephants and sort of enjoy them. They have a whole new exhibit at the San Diego Zoo for the elephants. Pretty nice.
On Tuesday we went to Disneyland! At first I didn't really want to go, but then I got excited about going. I'm so glad we went. It was obviously Liam's first time, and he liked that way more than the zoo. So much to look at and hear. Worthwhile for sure. And the baby care center is so nice! I wish all public places had that. They even sold diapers, food, and bottles if you needed it. I had all my stuff with me, but it's nice to know you can get that there without having to drag all that stuff with you for next time.
The Argentinian is FINALLY back. That was such a long trip! Three weeks is a long time to be apart. We drove up to LA to get him on Saturday. I also got to see my dad for the first time since his heart surgery, and he looks so good. He's lost a lot of weight, but not in a bad sickly way. Like he just looks very trim and healthy. He's finally able to start lifting weights and do more exercising.
We are slowly getting stuff packed up. My mom was nice enough to help me while she was down here. But it unfortunately feels like I haven't packed that much still. We only have like two weeks left until we move. That's so soon! I can't wait. Luckily we'll be up there for 4th of July, so I'll get to see my good friend J, who I haven't seen in a long time. Not since my wedding a year ago.
Which speaking of my wedding, I can't believe it's been a year already. Our anniversary is this weekend. Unfortunately, it shares the date with Father's Day this year. Which isn't that big a deal, but that just means the day won't just be about us. Cause it is also the Argentinian's first Father's Day, so I want to make that special.
So I heard about this really cool site via Jennifer (who heard about it from one of her roommates). It makes your pictures look super old. Which is great for those of us who want some different effects, but don't have photoshop (like me... if anyone has a copy for mac, you'd be my favorite person ever). Oh, and some photos are neighborhood only, FYI.
Well, the wedding went just wonderfully. We got married downtown at the Westgate hotel, and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to get married in the San Diego area. They were so wonderful and helpful throughout the whole process.
Anyway...I (and the Argentinian) couldn't have imagined a day more perfect. We didn't see each other at all before the ceremony, so it was a complete surprise how each other was going to look. Right before walking down the aisle, while standing outside the doors, holding on to my dad's arm, my heart suddenly started beating so fast. I don't know the last time I felt my heart beat so hard. But by the time I reached the end, and was up there with the Argentinian, any nerves had subsided, and I was just so excited. He looked so handsome. The ceremony was nice, not too long, not too short. We couldn't stop smiling and staring in each other's eyes when we got the chance. The whole night went by so quickly, looking back. What was actually 7 or 8 hours felt like 2 hours. I can't wait to see the pictures. So far we have a few from his sister that she took, and those turned out really nice.
Definitely Loving:
- getting married in only FOUR days!
- finally feeling a bit better regarding the pregnancy symptoms
- most of the wedding stuff being squared away
- getting a facial this afternoon (pregnancy is wreaking havoc on my skin)
- everything going presumably well with the pregnacy. we heard the heartbeat last wednesday
Definitely Over:
- being at work right now
- all the laundry that needs to be done
- all the organizing and cleaning that needs to be done before people get in town (starting Thursday) for the wedding
Loathes:
- all the stuff I still have to get squared away for the wedding
- feeling tired
- that not everyone could make it to the wedding
Loves:
- that the wedding is only 11 days away!
- that practically everything is done for the wedding
- I'm not feeling sick all the time anymore
- my friend E aka p.bear is coming to visit on Thursday
- doctor's appointment tomorrow (hopefully we'll find out all is perfectly ok and well)
I am very happy to say that a LOT of stuff for the wedding got done this weekend. Here's what I've gotten (ok, not without the help of my mother) done:
cake
dress and all other accessories (except jewelry)
location (ceremony AND reception)
picked out menu
flowers/centerpieces
picked out a bridesmaid dress
shoes
hotel for night before, and wedding night
Which isn't everything, but for getting all that done over the weekend, well, I'm quite satisfied.
But, for good reason. Partly, just cause I felt like I had nothing interesting to write about. There's only so many "I still feel tired and nauseous" posts I can post, and that you will want to read. As far as I know, everything with the pregnancy is still going well. I mean, no spotting or anything, so I assume (and hope) all is well. Occasionally I get freaked out and wonder since I can't really tell what's going on in there. But, I continue to overall be optimistic about it and try not to worry. Our next appointment is on the 11th, so I'm sure that will put my mind at ease.
This weekend the Argentinian and I moved in together. Our first place together (well, without roommates). The other day it just hit me when I woke up, that this was all for real. It was really weird, but in a good way. Like, we will (God willing) always be living together. We will hardly ever spend a night apart again, for the REST OF OUR LIVES. I't's about 3 weeks until we get married. A little less. Wow...that's coming up quick. I feel like there's still a lot to do. My mom is coming down next weekend though, so that should help with getting things done.
Let's see....what else? Not too much. My pants are officially beginning to feel too tight around the waist. Yet magically fit perfectly everywhere else. I'm hoping it stays that way (that I don't get too big everywhere else). My bras are also starting to feel a bit uncomfortable. I'm more ok with this kind of growth haha. But I finally found one this morning that mostly feels pretty comfortable, after a few minor alterations I performed.
It's dedication time. What song are you sending out, and who is it dedicated to?
I'd have to pick "Hey There, Delilah" by Plain White T's, and I'd dedicate it to him. We both love that song. I actually wanted to use it somewhere in our wedding.
